Maple Valley Library
The Study Zone needs volunteers to tutor elementary through high school students at the library. Use your skills in math, science, English, social studies, study techniques and more! There are shifts for tutors at Maple Valley Library on shifts on Wednesdays 5:30-7:30pm. More opportunities are available across the King County Library System.

United States against Cancer (USAC)
USAC is a nonprofit organization that raises awareness about cancer and funds research to find a cure the disease. Volunteers will help with Cancer Research while also providing knowledge and awareness to the public. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to gain knowledge in the field of cancer research by shadowing research specialists and research professors. They are accepting applications some students who are in 11th grade and above.

Influence the Choice Video Contest
Influence the Choice is sponsoring a video contest to inspire youth to positively influence each other by producing 2-minute public service announcements on various topics. Participants record the time they spent filming and editing to count towards volunteer hours. Click here for more information!

A non-profit organization dedicated to help organize birthday parties for homeless children. When volunteering you can help assist with throwing parties, baking birthday cakes, making deliveries, putting gifts together/wrapping gifts, or make party hats and goodie bags for someone’s special day!

Sammamish Animal Sanctuary
Mountains to Sound Greenway Nursery
The Mountains to Sound Greenway hosts 2 volunteering events per month on Saturdays from 9AM-12PM at their nursery at Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah. Volunteers are required to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants, and should bring gloves if they have them, though the Greenway will provide them if you don't have any. It's also recommended that volunteers bring a water bottle, dress in layers, and bring rain gear since the work is mostly done outdoors.

High school athletes can become a mentor for a child with special needs. Mentors typically meet weekly with their assigned buddy.

Relay for Life is an overnight event focused on raising funds for curing and treating cancer around America.
-Relay is an 18-20 hour overnight event
-Create teams of friends and family to fundraise together
-Proceeds go towards local cancer research, treatment, and patient care
-Must raise a minimum of $100 to participate
-Event is June 4-5
-Enjoy competitions, activities, food, and booths!
